My friends had me an amazing going away party last weekend at Ritter Park. They are the best.

It was a lovely after noon. The weather was amazing and people brought food, which is awesome because as you have probably come to realize I really love food.

Usually I hate saying goodbye, but they made it a lot of fun. I know that I am about to embark on this amazing journey, and I am so sure I will meet a lot of awesome, new friends, but it just isn’t possible to replace some of the amazing friends I have made here in Huntington.

Converting to Islam really did show me who my friends were. Which friends were accepting of my decision not to drink, which friends support my hijab. A lot of friends did leave when they realized I wanted nothing to do with their party lifestyles, but the ones who stuck around really increased in value to me.

Always remember, it’s better to have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
