Sometimes I find myself being completely bored out of my mind here. Granted, there isn’t much to do- no theaters, no clubs, restrictions on restaurants women can go to, and so on. It’s no secret that life here can be difficult at times simply because it is so boring.
The cool thing about this, however, is that you really learn to appreciate the small things. When you are in your own country it might seem like a normal thing to go out for a lunch with some friends, take a walk in the park to relax. We incorporate these things into our daily routine sometimes. But the lifestyle here is vastly different- these things are not the norm, they are a treat.
While it is monotonous to live here at times, it can also be nice to disconnect from that hectic lifestyle, and really enjoy the smaller, simpler things in life.
