It seems every weekend Mamdouh and I find ourselves at his family’s house. Not complaining, because I’m one of the few people on earth that actually likes her in-laws it seems… but I am still a newlywed and still relatively new in the family (although not the newest as my brother-in-law got married in July to a lovely lady) meaning I still need to impress them when I can. What a better way to impress someone than by making a delicious cake?

My friends made it over the summer and it was so delicious, so I asked for the recipe and decided I should try it out. And I’m so happy with the way it turned out. The biggest compliment I received? My in-laws asked me where I bought it. They were so surprised I baked it myself. I’m gladthey were impressed.

So we sat in the floor and ate it, along with a lot of other delicious snacks. That’s a standard thing to expect, by the way. Everyone should expect to gain at least 10 pounds when they move to Saudi Arabia.

All in all, it was a pretty great weekend. It’s nice to have a low key weekend after a long week.
Salaam,
KC
