So we are currently on what feels like day 93034 of quarantine, although I know I am being a bit dramatic. To be fair though, I haven’t been to work since December as I was heavily pregnant, so it feels a lot longer than it has been.
It’s Ramadan, which I’m sure is no surprise. A lot of times in Ramadan I meet up with friends for Iftar. There are many dinners in many houses, many meetings in many restaurants. Not this year. This year there is only monotony and repetition.
Case in point? Chicken. Y’all. I am so serious when I say I feed my husband roast chicken almost every day. He doesn’t mind- in fact, he loves it. When I ask him what he wants to eat for dinner, he always replies with the same one word answer, chicken, as if he is giving me a helpful suggestion. And I am tired and I am lethargic so every day I cook his one word suggestion of chicken.
At least my chicken roasting abilities are off the chart these days. I’ve had a lot of practice.
What are you guys eating this Ramadan? How are you coping with social distancing? Let me know in the comments 🙂
Salaam,
KC
